It seems like one of my session on Google has been picked up for a trial of new search and results page designs. And I wanted to share them with you.
Image 1 shows the new search home, with a bigger search box that uses a larger font. Buttons are bigger too.
Image 2 shows how a search result look. The filtering options are shown as default. The search box has become adjustable, as you can see in image 3, after I have made the window smaller.
Image 4 shows news results, with a new design for the results type list. If you click on “More”, as is currently the case, you get what’s shown on image 5.
Image 6 shows the “Updates” option, which arrange the results chronologically. You can choose multiple filters from the list, and they get stacked one on top of the other.
Finally, image 7 shows what the problem can be with a variable width website: the result and the ad get mashed together. That can be a serious issue.
Has anyone else got to see this? Thoughts?
