I’m just back from a 3-day trip with Gema in the Alto Tajo park.
Brilliant natural environment. Quiet, with almost no turists. It is
supposed to be harsh in terms of weather, but excepto for the cold, it
was pretty fine and we had the chance to enjoy a couple of cool walks.
The first one, a round trip crossing the Tajo river with chilly water
up to the knees, and crossing some forests and beautiful waterfalls.
The second one, more spectacular in my point of view, going through
magnificent rock walls that may possibly be unclimbable. Amazing area.
I am looking forward to coming back any time. Apparently there is some
good climbing in a couple of places. I need to check. The casa rural
(equivalent to B&B in this case) in which we stayed in Peñalèn was
quite nice and very well priced. There’s also great food around, if
you look in the right places.
